strange time in my life

have you ever held hands with someone
whose hands are so small
you wonder how they will fit with yours –
which they don't, you know,
so instead of just her hand in your hand
there's her hand in your hand
and her other hand here too
on the other side
but it doesn't really matter
because you're laughing
or talking
or smoking or something
and your hand is in her hands
in between her legs
on her face
on her waist.
