I wanted to tell you
how beautiful you looked in that jumper
when you rolled the sleeves up a little bit
and you wrists were exposed.
I didn't.
You fell asleep so effortlessly one night that I had to steel myself.
Is it possible for you to drift into your subconscious that easily?
Is this just you or do others do it too?
My last lover stayed over only once
and even then she'd made me stay up with her
till three am
with our friends before we got a taxi home.
